Alice Tasman has been a literary agent for over two decades. She represents a diverse range of writers, with an emphasis on fiction. Her writers have earned numerous awards and honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Caldecott Honor, the Joyce Carol Oates Prize (Longlist), the American Library in Paris Book Award (Shortlist), the Edgar Award (Finalist), the International Thriller Writers Thriller Award (Finalist), the Grand Prix de L’Imaginaire (Finalist), the O. Henry Prize, and the Saint Francis College Literary Prize, among others. Her clients’ books have been New York Times Book Review Notable Books, New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice Books, Good Morning America Recommended Books, USA Today “New and Noteworthy” Books, Indie Next Picks, and Junior Library Guild Selections. They have been featured on Best Books of the Year lists by the Los Angeles Times, the Miami Herald, Entertainment Weekly, O, The Oprah Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Amazon, Women’s National Book Association, The New York Public Library, and Kirkus Reviews. Her clients’ books have been adapted for film, television, and the stage.

Alice is drawn to distinctive voices and unique perspectives.  She loves discovering debut writers and is dedicated to nurturing and developing their careers over the long term.

Alice earned her BA in Comparative Literature from Brown University and her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College.
