We are a full-service literary agency founded by Jean Naggar in 1978. In 2004, Jean partnered with Jennifer Weltz, now President of the agency. Since then, Alice Tasman and Ariana Philips have been named Partners, and Junior Agent Cole Hildebrand assists the agency while actively building a robust list in fiction and non-fiction.

In 2024, JVNLA teamed up with cookbook-focused literary agency The Ekus Group, which now operates as a boutique culinary division within JVNLA. Sally Ekus represents cookbook and lifestyle titles as Senior Literary Agent, assisted by Junior Agent Ty Billman, whose background is in recipe development and journalism.
